snowboarding

I went snowboarding last weekend at the great bear ski resort. I went with one of my friends and his dad. I didn’t know what to expect but I expected less than what I saw. It was very fun and I would go back if I could. At first I was afraid that I would fall of the lift or I wouldn’t be able to get on the lift. Something kind of like that happened. My friend and I met a kid that got ditched by his friends. He hung out with us and when we were getting on the lift we didn’t have enough room, so I got pushed to the side and didn’t manage to stick the landing and fell off. Luckily it was right at the lift off a couple of feet off the ground. I didn’t get my revenge except for a couple of huge laughs because he was screwing around and fell of the lift. But he was at the peak of the lift height and didn’t get hurt but had to fix his skis for a while. I at him after that so we were even.

Another reason why I chose to write about snowboarding is that I just love having the cold wind slash my face, the big air, and being able to go faster or slower when I chose. I don’t know why but it just gives me that adrenalin run that everyone loves. I have been amateur snowboarding almost ever since I could get on a board. Every winter I got least got snowboarding one. Either on little hills or at the amp theater by the lake. All in all I really like to snow board and love to do it.

piece i'd like to revise

The genre is a short story, named Halloween.
I wrote about what I wanted to do that Halloween and about the candy I wanted to get. I said that I wanted to get a lot of more candy so my parents wouldn’t eat it all. I asked you some questions about candy, holidays, and if you liked your birthday or your favorite holiday the most.

I got most of my ideas from last year. I had an ok abundance of candy but my parents still ate it all. I wanted to get more candy that time so I could hide most of it and be sugared up all the time. The main idea that started my whole story was Halloween. Anyone could write about Halloween and at least have a paragraph.

How I would change it is I would write more about last year and more about the candy and define it deeper. I would ask different questions and be more thorough. Also, instead of asking so many questions I could answer & ask the question. Why I would change it is because it doesn’t look like a very good short little paragraph. I personally don’t think it’s a very good paragraph. I think there could be a lot better changes like putting an awubis, smiley face trick, or something else to make it better. Even better I could have put all of those things in together.

favorite piece

The genre that is my favorite is a short story, named a sad life.
It’s about a family whose kind of being stoked by a person that is supposed to help them. There was a dad, mom, and four brothers that are in a bad situation with bad people after them. First the father gets shot and nobody hears about him ever again. Six years later the mother dies and the four children are left alone but are old enough to work and stay alive. The doctor that seems kind of weird lies about the cause of death they try and try to find out what is wrong with him and they can’t even find his name. They all decide to do what they think needs to be done. I finished off my story with a TO BE CONTINUED.

It’s my favorite because I wrote it on my own without having a subject to start it. It’s also one of my favorites because that could be real and could happen to a family, hopefully it will never. When I wrote this I couldn’t believe I could actually write something like this and that made it stick up has a favorite.

Well, I’m not completely sure where my ideas came from but when I see a creative commercial I might get an Idea with that. I even got some ideas from music videos, subjects in school, and TV shows. After a while I add them together to make a story that actually makes since. When I ran out of ideas I smoothened out the ending so I could have a TO BE CONTINUED.

first semester reflection

How I grew as a student is that I know a lot of new information that can help me become a better writer. The smiley face tricks are some really good tips to making your writing better. They sure helped me when I was stuck on a part of an essay to get a new topic started. There is new information when I am reading a book. It’s called the first person and third person view as the book is being narrated. There are also a lot of things in poetry too. When writing a poem, you can make a picture made by words. I picture it in your head because it is so into detail. That’s another trick we learned called imagery.

What I learned about myself is that I can get an idea from something then change it up to something different. I can write something creative, something informational, or something no one else would think of writing. I also learned that if we get a big project I work on it a little then a little. When the project is going to be handed in a couple of days I start working hard and by the time we have to hand it in it’s close to being done or it is done. I also learned that if I stick my mind to something I really want to learn I can learn it.

If I would do something to be a better student it would be that I shouldn’t be scared or nervous when we have to do a project or big assignments. Also when they are assigned I should start working on them right away. If I don’t have homework and I am bored I shouldn’t flop on the couch and watch T.V., I should get out my IR book and start reading. Another thing I could do to be a better student is if I have any questions I should ask them and not keep them to myself.
